HSBC banks on a CGI finish

Security just got a makeover with the release of the HSBC secure key. Here at Happy Finish we helped advertising agency, JWT London create these adverts to highlight the new product in online banking for the "worlds local bank."

This 360 degree campaign included multi platform content created by Happy Finish's team of CG artists and retoucher, Christopher Peabody to highlight the benefits of HSBC's latest technology to keep their customers secure. Director, Richard Tisdall explains how the use of CG helped to optimise these adverts. "We could really develop this concept through using CGI to create perfect visual elements, where else would you be able to find a 15th Century Armada chest in mint condition? These multi functional assets could then be used in a variety of media formats from print to online banner adverts."

Take a look at how we made the print adverts from first wire frame to final retouch in our case study below or click here to see the final banner animations.

Wire Frame

Elements for the final advert are madd our first in a wire frame format to make sure all geometry is correct.

Chalk Render

Basic lighting information is added to the chalk render beofre textures and shaders are applied.

Retouching

Once the objects have been textured in CGI they are then passed over to be refined in retouching.
