We rebuild 1960s TWA flightcenter in CGI

Happy Finish CGI has helped photographer Benedict Redgrove realize his long held ambition of shooting his latest fashion story in the TWA Flight Center, JFK International Airport, despite it being closed to public access. The collaboration with CGI artist Matt Painter allowed Benedict to virtually walk around the terminal to choose his shoot locations and angles.

“We created a fully accessible, photo realistic virtual shoot location in CGI, of an iconic building that no longer exists in its original design”, says Matt. ”We had total control: weather, shoot angles, interior, you name it! We were able to tailor everything to Benedict’s vision.”

Based in London, Happy Finish works globally with award-winning photographers & ad agencies to create unique advertising images using CGI and retouching.

Modelling Stage
Original architectural blueprints and Saarinen’s sketches helped in creating a true to life wire frame.

Lighting Stage
We produced a chalk render to create the lighting & shade that perfectly suited Benedict’s photographic vision.

Texturing Stage
We textured & rendered the environment and placed the models into it, then added our retouching magic!
